Introduction: What's This All About Anyway?

This blog grew out of a desire to capture those televised sporting events worth watching in this, and every successive, week.  It's not going to be pretty.  All of those bells and whistles and pretty graphics you see on other websites?  Well, they won't be included here.  This website also won't be a literary masterpiece.  It's going to exist with one goal in mind:  to tell you what sports to watch on TV each and every week.

So... what is going to be included?  Well, a quick rundown of the planned content:

College Football:  This will typically be updated on Tuesday mornings (before 8).  I won't include every game being televised; instead, I'll list my "top ten" games of the week, along with their respective channels and times.

NFL:  NFL will be a bit different.  Everyone knows what games are on and it's likely that they will watch whatever is on, regardless of the teams playing.  Everyone else either goes into a Redzone coma (me) or has the "ticket."  However, I will still give a game (or games) of the week that need to be watched regardless of your affiliation.  I'll try to post these on Wednesday morning.

College Basketball:  Tackling the monolithic beast that is the televised college basketball schedule is something that I do plan on doing, although adjustments may need to be made to keep my sanity in check.  As the plan now stands, I'll be releasing a "top ten" games of the week just like in football. Look for these on Tuesday afternoons (around lunch time).

NBA:  For the NBA, I'll list the "must watch" games on national television for the week.  The NBA season can be quite a slog and I've found it much easier to keep up with the schedule by watching those "select" match ups, particularly in a league as top heavy as this one.  Wednesday afternoon is slotted for this post.

NHL:  To be determined.  I don't know a lot about hockey but I plan on changing this.  Whatever I do will be similar to what is listed for the NBA above.

MLB:  *Sigh.*  I can't make any promises here.

Boxing:  This will be done monthly or bi-weekly and will list upcoming match ups between "contenders," i.e. matches with two top-10 fighters in their respective weight class.  "Marquee" match ups will be noted.

MMA:  Similar to boxing, I'll be listing key, upcoming fights in the world of MMA.  Not limited to UFC, I'll be including other organizations, including Glory's kickboxing league.  I'll also be posting a monthly listing of "matches to watch" for the month just concluded.  This will allow the reader to go back and check out the best fights in the past month that they may have missed.

Look for the first post tomorrow!
